Questions
Which PDF tool should I use?
To hide names, numbers or anything else before you send a PDF, use Redact PDF. If someone sent you a redacted PDF and you want to know whether the black boxes really hide the text, use Unredact PDF. To keep every page as it is but remove the author name, software and edit dates stored inside, use Remove PDF metadata.
Why not just draw black boxes in a PDF editor?
A box drawn on top usually leaves the text underneath in the file, where anyone can select and copy it. Redact PDF rebuilds every page it changes, so the covered text no longer exists, and checks the new file before you save it.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Every PDF is opened and processed inside your browser, and the page’s security policy blocks it from sending files anywhere.
